In 2017 a popular restaurant in Hackney became the centre of ‘Synesthesia’, the home of Undergrowth Collective’s weekly synesthetic supper club. Centering around the extraordinary culinary creations of a Michelin trained vegan chef and magical mixology artist, audiences selected their dining experience from an image based menu.
Each selected image directed the individual journey of participants’ sensory experience, harking back to environmental mythology and our timeless connection with the elements. These events were designed to heighten individual imagination within a collective space by stimulating every human sense in a uniquely tailored, yet simultaneously shared experience.
